Demo or paper trading means placing hypothetical trades with a virtual balance, so you can learn how orders, charts and position sizing work without risking money.
Its limits
Demo results can be very different from real trading. Real orders face fees, spreads, slippage and the emotional pressure of real losses, none of which a demo fully reproduces. A good demo record does not mean real trades will go the same way.
